Swimming!
We had our first swimming trip of the year this week. It was my first time going, and I had a blast watching the kids in the pool, I can't wait until next time when I can join them in the pool! It seemed like it was a great time had by all. There are still a couple of people that need to pay their swimming fees as well as their student fees, if that can be done as soon as you are able, that would be great! Here are some pictures of splishing and splashing!

I'd Like to Introduce You to...Mulvey's Millionaires!
We had our first full week in grade 5 and it was great! We have started some of our units in Math, Social Studies, and Science. The students had the opportunity to begin to make our cheques in the computer lab for their 5M accounts, which we will finish this upcoming week. We ended the week with a Gym Blast and by winning the football game. It was a great week and I'm looking forward to many more!

Welcome to 5M!
Welcome to our classroom! The purpose of this blog is to keep students and parents updated with the on-goings of our classroom. There are tabs at the top of the blog that will take you to the selected section and fill you in on what we are doing in those subjects. On the side there is a calendar of events and notes from the teacher which will include reminders of events. I try my best to keep the blog up to date and I hope that you find it easy to use! I am looking forward to a fantastic year with you!

Thank You 2M!
Thank you for the wonderful year 2M! It has been a privilege to teach you all this year. You have been an exceptional class and I have really enjoyed my year with you. As you know, I will be teaching grade 5 next year, and I will be considerably lucky if I am able to be your teacher again! Have a fantastic summer; be safe and enjoy your well deserved time off!

A Great Day at Austin Museum!
The weather cooperated and we had a fantastic time at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum! 2M and 2T students and parent volunteers had a blast as they traveled through time back to the olden days.
The kids went through 6 different hands on stations where they; watched a blacksmith in action and got a horseshoe nail necklace, they made rope at the General Store, they made candles in an old house, they did laundry the old fashioned way and received some homemade soap, they sat in an old school and used a quill and ink, and they worked with sheep's wool and watched it be made to yarn.
I think a great day was had by all and the kids got a lot of exercise walking to the stations and they learned a lot about the way things used to be.
A huge thanks to our parent volunteers who made it possible for Mrs. Thornton and I to walk around taking pictures and trouble shooting issues.
