This past week was jammed packed with swimming, track and field and our field trip to Lower Fort Garry. The week flew by and the kids had a great time at their first track and field and the field trip. Here are are just a few pictures of track and field.

Track and Field and Many Other Things on the Horizon!
Students are currently preparing for their first Track and Field Meet. They are very excited, as am I, it is so great to see them being active and trying new things! I walked in on their first class of learning Triple Jump today, and took some pictures.
The LVS Track Meet is scheduled for Thursday May 23, with a rain date of May 27 - if it looks iffy, you'll have to listen to the radio for updates. Students are responsible for their transportation to Yellowquill School for the track meet, and they are responsible for their own transportation home. Students who qualify for the the City Track Meet will be notified and details will be given to those students.

POW!
POW was a hit at LVS on Tuesday night, with over 81 students attending! I was happy to hear that their were many of our very only 5M participants as well! What a great opportunity for all students. Here is a picture of our own Julia Gabriel, assisting with the demonstration at the school.
By the end of the demonstration, many kids from the school joined in dancing.

I Love to Read Week
We ended off I Love to Read week and our Literacy Respect assembly with Bring a Book to the Beach Day. We partnered up with the grade ones in the gym and read books with our partners. It was a very busy week, but a great one!
