Student Led Conferences

The students and I have been busy this week preparing for the Student Led Conferences this Thursday and Friday. We have been putting our portfolios together and practicing what we are going to share with you. Student Led Conferences are a fabulous way to celebrate your child's successes this term. I do hope you are able to take the time to look at your child's work. I look forward to seeing you this Thursday or Friday!

Happy Halloween!

Kids had a great afternoon playing some Minute to Win It tasks (Face the Cookie, A Bit Dicey, The Dizzy Mummy, and Defying Gravity) and relaxing at the end of the day with some snacks and a movie. I am wishing everyone a relaxing long weekend and hoping that everyone has a safe night Trick or Treating!

First Gym Blast of the Year!

Students enjoyed their first middle years Gym Blast on Friday. The students and myself had a blast competing in the events. We had several relay events including making a chain, popping balloons, and spinning around until we are dizzy and running. We ended the gym blast with the whole class pushing Xavier across the gym in our sea of waves!

5M Classroom Brain!

This past week all of the students completed a Multiple Intelligence Survey to see what their multiple intelligence is and to determine what kind of learners they are. We then took all of the different intelligences that are present in the class and made a classroom brain. The brain shows that we all have of our strengths, and that they may differ from others, but our differences is what makes us a community. Once we put our wrinkle in the brain, we staked our claim to it declaring ourselves as experts in our intelligence. The brain can be used as a reference point for other students to seek help when they are struggling in a task, they can find an expert in the field and ask for help.

Welcome Back!

Well the first 2 days of school have gone by in a blur! It was a busy 2 days of getting to know each other, and reintroducing students to our school rules, as well as classroom rules. I am looking forward to an excellent year!

Here are some classroom pictures of students working on their All About Me posters:
