Goodbye 5M & LVS!

I have had the pleasure of teaching at LVS for 6 years and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end my time here. I had an extraordinary class this year, and I had a great time working with these kids and I look forward to seeing them when they enter PCI! Have a safe and enjoyable summer grade 5's and always remember to choose kindness!

Dog Day!

Our balloon for Thursday was dog day in 5M! I brought my two girls Calamity and Mayhem to spend the afternoon with the kids. The kids played soccer and the dogs ran up and down the field with them. 5M tired those dogs out because they would not get out of bed this morning! My old man Chaos is going to join us tomorrow afternoon in the classroom.

Stop or They'll Shoot!

The grade 5 classes at LVS had the wonderful opportunity to learn archery skills yesterday afternoon. Students were taught the proper techniques for archery and had the opportunity to practice their skills! We had a couple of bulls eyes and balloon popping! We definitely have some sharp shooters in 5M!

Time is Flying!

It's hard to believe that we only have 2 1/2 more months together! Time is certainly flying! Pictured above is students participating in a fur trading activity. This activity kicked off our new Social Studies unit of the Fur Trade. We have started our last set of units for the year. Social Studies is the fur trade, Science is the human body and matter, and our final math topics will be measurement, fractions, and graphing. We also have additional activities and field trips planned for the remaining months. It is going to be a busy few months in 5M!

Festival du Voyageur!

The grade 5's definitely had a cold day at Festival du Voyageur, but they certainly made the best of it. We started out the morning with an interactive quiz show that tested the students knowledge of the Red River Settlement. Our afternoon consisted of a trip through the souvenir tent, a sleigh ride and some free time on the hill. Everyone managed to keep warm and to have a great time!
